Q’eswachaka Bridge Tour & 4 Lagoons Full Day

The 1-day Qeswachaca Bridge Tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the last remaining Inca bridge, considered the only one of its kind still standing today. This bridge was part of the ancient Inca Trail network, known as the Qhapaq Ñan.

During this tour, you will have the chance to discover the following places:

Qeswachaca: The Rope Bridge, measuring 33 meters long and 1.20 meters wide, is suspended 20 meters above the Apurímac River. It is rebuilt annually through the community work of about 1,000 peasants from nearby villages such as Winchiri, Ccolana, Quehue, Chaupibanda, and Choccayhua.
Apurímac Canyon: Considered the second deepest canyon in the Americas, the Apurímac Canyon is an awe-inspiring natural wonder formed over thousands of years. It is also home to the majestic Andean Condor.
Four Lagoons: This tourist circuit includes the Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnaqocha, and Pampamarca lagoons. These lakes offer stunning natural landscapes and are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco, Four Lagoons & Qeswachaca

The day begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 a.m. to start the journey to the southwest. After approximately two hours of travel, we will visit the Four Lagoons: Pomacanchi Lagoon, Acopia Lagoon, Asnaqocha Lagoon, and Pampamarca Lagoon. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful moment by these beautiful bodies of water.

After visiting the lagoons, we’ll head to the small volcano of Pabellones near the town of Yanaoca. Next, we’ll reach the Apurímac River and the impressive Qeswachaca Bridge, a hanging Inca bridge made of vegetal fiber (Ichu). This bridge has been rebuilt for centuries and is maintained every year by the local communities in the region.

You’ll have the opportunity to cross the Inca bridge up to two times—if you dare to experience this thrilling adventure. Feel what it’s like to be an authentic Chaski (Inca messenger) crossing this historic bridge!

On the way back to Kanas, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in the local village. Then we’ll visit the Colonial Inca Bridge of Combapata, where you can compare this bridge with the ancient Qeswachaca bridge.

The tour ends around 5:00 p.m. as we return to the city of Cusco.
