Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Panoramic City Tour

Upon arrival at Cusco airport, the Peruvian Great Journeys team will be waiting to transfer you to the hotel, where you’ll begin the acclimatization process with a comforting coca tea.
Later, you’ll receive a brief orientation about the itinerary. In the afternoon, we will start our City Tour, visiting the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha) and the archaeological complexes of Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Tambomachay, and Puca Pucara. After the tour, we’ll return to the city to rest.

Overnight in Cusco.

Day 2: Exploring the Sacred Valley – Journey to Aguas Calientes

At 8:00 am, the excursion to the Sacred Valley begins with a stop at the Taray viewpoint for breathtaking views. Next, we’ll visit Pisac, where we’ll explore its archaeological site and traditional artisan market.
Then, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba before visiting the Ollantaytambo complex, one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in the Americas. In the afternoon, we’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, gateway to Machu Picchu.

Day 3: Visit to Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

After breakfast, we’ll take a bus up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the main highlights: the Main Square, the Intihuatana Solar Clock, the Temple of the Condor, and other historic sites.
Then, you’ll have free time to explore on your own or take the optional hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain if you have the corresponding ticket.
After the experience, we’ll return by train to Ollantaytambo and then take private transportation back to Cusco.

Day 4: Farewell from Cusco

Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll organize your transfer to the airport for your return to your home city.
