Day 1: South Valley Cusco
The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. At 9:00 a.m., we’ll start the journey by visiting the Tipón Archaeological Park, famous for exemplifying the Incas’ advanced hydraulic engineering. Next, we’ll head to the Pikillacta Archaeological Complex, an ancient Wari city recognized for its urban planning and imposing walls up to seven meters high. The last stop is the Church of Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas” for its unique colonial art and fusion of Andean symbols.
On the return to Cusco, you’ll enjoy an open-air experience sampling traditional regional products such as the famous Oropesa bread and delicious oven-baked guinea pig in Tipón. The day will end with a visit to Saylla, where you can taste the irresistible Cusco-style chicharrones, before returning to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas.
