By making a reservation with Peruvian Great Journeys, you agree to be legally bound by the following terms and conditions. We recommend that you read this document carefully before confirming your trip.
General Conditions
We operate in areas where transportation, lodging, and service standards may differ from those you are accustomed to in your home country. Nevertheless, our team strives to deliver high-quality services with professionalism, safety, and responsibility.
Traveling in Peru requires flexibility, patience, tolerance, a sense of humor, and an open mind. Unforeseen circumstances—such as weather conditions, social demonstrations or road blockades, or logistical failures—may alter the itinerary. By booking, you accept any necessary adjustments that may arise during the trip.
Situations Beyond Our Control
In the event of civil unrest, protests, natural phenomena, pandemics, road closures, fires, or any force majeure event, Peruvian Great Journeys reserves the right to change, postpone, or cancel the tour in whole or in part. In such cases, traveler and staff safety will be the top priority.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers:
- Accidents and medical emergencies
- Air evacuation and rescue
- Service cancellations
- Lost luggage
It is the passenger’s responsibility to send a copy of the purchased insurance prior to the start of the tour.
Strikes and Logistical Changes
In Peru, strikes are a common form of protest and may affect trip logistics. If this occurs, our team will assess options to adjust the itinerary, such as moving departures earlier or later, always prioritizing your safety.
Health and Risks
Many of our tours include hikes at high altitudes and in remote areas. By booking, you accept the inherent risks of adventure activities.
You must inform us if you have any medical condition, food allergy, or special requirement. Peruvian Great Journeys assumes no responsibility for complications related to undisclosed medical conditions or special dietary requirements.
We recommend consulting your doctor before participating in any physically demanding activity.
Environmental Impact and Sustainability
We are committed to responsible tourism:
- We use biodegradable soaps and collect all waste generated.
- Our porters are trained to care for the natural environment.
- We use eco-friendly portable toilets.
- We apply “leave no trace” practices on all our routes.
Booking and Refund Policy
The reservation deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Once tickets are issued (such as entry tickets to Machu Picchu), names, dates, or passport details cannot be modified.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be notified in writing to info@peruviangreatjourneys.com. Cancellation charges apply as follows:
- No formal notification: 100% of the tour cost will be charged.
- Cancellation within 6 weeks prior to the start date: 80% of the total cost.
- Cancellation within 2 weeks prior to the start date: 90% of the total cost.
- Cancellation within 7 days prior to the start date: 100% of the total cost.
Voluntary Withdrawal from the Tour
If you choose to leave the tour after it has begun, no refunds will be issued. Additionally, the traveler will assume all extra costs for transportation, lodging, and meals. If you wish to rejoin the group at Machu Picchu, we can help you purchase a new train ticket and entry ticket.
